L’Esprit
Maison Lavaud

We imagined a house for those who seeking more than a place to stay.
Here, art is to be experienced. Spaces reveal themselves moment by moment, amid chosen artworks and a discreet presence.
Evenings unfold slowly: a drink in the salon, a moment out of time at the spa, or a visit to Claire’s studio.
A place to slow down, to dwell, to feel at home.

Art at Maison Lavaud

A house shaped by the eye of Claire and Pascal Lavaud, in dialogue with artists.

Exhibitions, conversations, theater, private concerts: art in many forms, and always vibrant.

Une femme lit un document, allongée sur un canapé face à un homme assis, devant un public.

A neighborhood with the feel of a village and  a rich heritage.

Close to Parc Montsouris, the house belongs to a quarter shaped by generations of artists.
Wandering its streets, one finds traces of Georges Braque, Hans Hartung, Nicolas de Staël, Simon Hantaï…

A cultural legacy that still echoes in contemporary creativity.
Staying here means reconnecting with that artistic energy.

Claire & Pascal Lavaud

Claire is a visual artist. Pascal is a mathematician.

We grew up in houses where art and culture were a given, and where passing them on mattered as much as loving them.

The property has been in the family for generations, and the house on it has changed with each of them. The one that stands here today was rebuilt from the ground up a few years ago. We drew it room by room, to our own taste, and designed it to work and welcome people: a certain idea of luxury, a certain idea of art, and the simple pleasure of having guests.

Maison Lavaud carries that further. What we want is a living place — one where art is not simply hung on a wall, but where contemporary work, and culture in all its forms, can be felt and shared.
