Another Paris
Steps from Parc Montsouris, a place apart in a neighborhood Agnès Varda put on film, with an extraordinary cultural and artistic past.
A walk through these streets takes you past rue Daguerre and the great brasseries — La Coupole, La Closerie des Lilas — where Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Picasso, Sonia Delaunay and Yves Klein once gathered.
Loved by artists, academics and families alike, our neighborhood has the feel of a village and offers a different Paris, just minutes from the city center.
Walks in the park, local addresses, the traces of artists: another way of inhabiting Paris takes hold.

Art & culture around the house
Walk toward Parc Montsouris and you pass streets where major figures of art and cultural history once lived:
Villa Seurat, with the studio-houses of Jean Lurçat and Chana Orloff, and home at various times to Anaïs Nin and Henry Miller;
Maison Ozenfant, designed by Le Corbusier; the small, picturesque square de Montsouris;
rue Gauguet, with Nicolas de Staël’s house and, next door, that of Anna-Eva Bergman and Hans Hartung;
rue Georges-Braque, where the painter lived until his death…
Here is the quiet of another Paris, minutes from the bustle of Montparnasse, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter.

The Montsouris neighborhood
The lawns of Parc Montsouris and of the Cité Internationale Universitaire — the city’s international student campus — give the neighborhood a countryside feel: a perfect setting for relaxing, jogging, playing with children, picnicking, or even practicing yoga or tai chi…
In Parc Montsouris you can rest in the shade of century-old trees: a ginkgo biloba that turns gold in fall, a monumental sequoia, an oriental plane of sculptural bearing.
The Cité Internationale park spreads across 34 hectares — some 84 acres — of remarkable biodiversity, featuring over a hundred tree species arranged in refined landscapes that reinforce existing ecological corridors.
